Not many TV shows earn promotional shout-outs from both John McCain and Barack Obama. But endorsing Army Wives? A political no-brainer. The hit Lifetime drama (Sundays at 10 pm/ET), after all, depicts with sensitivity — and soap-operatic flourish — the lives of American military families. The candidates' high-profile tributes were the latest signs of success for the network's most popular show, which scored record ratings for its second-season opener as well as an official thumbs-up from the U.S. Department of Defense.

Lifetime television's "Army Wives" marches to another
record and the season is only two weeks old!
NEW YORK The second episode
of the smash hit "Army Wives" drew 1,975,652 W25-54 -- the most ever for an
original drama telecast in Lifetime Television's 24-year history -- demolishing
the record set during last week's season premiere. This also became the
highest-rated W25-54 drama telecast on cable in 2008.
During its Sunday,
June 15 (10PM, ET/PT) airing, the critically acclaimed "Army Wives" also
averaged a robust 4.2 million P2+, 3.2 million W18+ and a 3.5 household
rating.

Catherine and Kim were on The View today where they discussed the popularity
of the show, a bit about the season premiere and for those that haven't seen it,
one of the presenters spills the beans on a pivotal point in the opening episode
(!) Good one Sherri! It was a good interview that finishes of with Catherine
being very UNLIKE Denise in Japan.
